A hemoglobin A1c test is used to check the level of blood sugar over a 3 month period. It is used most often to diagnose diabetes. It is a test that uses chemical analysis from one blood test, to measure the level over 3 months. An AST test is a liver function test that may diagnose liver disease such as jaundice, these are blood tests though, I don't know of any from the urine that can do the same.

If you're looking for urinalysis test specifically: Diabetes mellitus can be detected by the presence of glucose in the urine A low specific gravity can indicate diabetes insipidus, as the urine is not concentrated and mostly water Jaundice (which is acutally a yellow colour of this skin - the correct test would really be for liver function) can be diagnosed by a high concentration of bilirubin in the urine.
