Gestational Diabetes has the same possibility of damage as "regular" diabetes: pain and tingling in the hands and feet, tiredness, inability to gain weight, poor eyesight, etc. But gestational diabetes also increases the chance of miscarriage and birth defects. However, gestational diabetes will usually go away after you've given birth and drop back to your pre-pregnancy weight level. if you do NOT lose that "baby fat" you may remain as a Type 2 Diabetic.
